Remodel: Nantucket in Napa
Recently relocated from the Southern California coast, these empty-nesters approached NV Design to remodel their newly acquired Napa home in the hills of the Alta Heights neighborhood. Much like the couple’s personalities, their desired interior design style exudes approachable elegance.
Relaxed Luxury
Amber and Paige’s design combines the elegant and airy flavors of the classic Northeast coast with the cool comfortable vibes of Southern California.
The kitchen that we started with featured a drop ceiling, which was a disappointment considering the vaulted ceiling of rest of the room. It was in need of an aesthetic and functional update. Amber and Paige’s design provided a more spacious feeling to match the rest of the room, and of course a new personality. By relocating the dining area to the adjacent room, the new space allows the homeowners to entertain, casually dine, and enjoy the cocktail/seating area while taking in the views of Downtown Napa and beyond, all in the same room. Featuring a custom built banquette with custom bench and back cushions, and window treatments in Thibaut fabrics, executed by Royal Designs of Napa.

Simple Changes, Big Impact
The front room didn’t need much to make a huge difference - fresh coat of white paint on the ceiling and a new staircase design did the trick.
The primary bathroom originally featured a sizeable double vanity, a water closet, and an enclosed shower. There was also a strange space at the end of the bathroom that was non-functioning. Amber and Paige slightly altered the vanity footprint by adding a makeup vanity area, kept the water closet location as is, and completely opened up the shower. This allowed for the space at the end of the room to be a perfect home to a soaking tub.
Bright but Cozy Oasis
The primary bath features marble tile, sparkling hardware and fixtures, and pops of blue for that oh-so-relaxing cape cod vibe.

The lower level of the home has a den and a guest bathroom that both needed some updating as well. NV re-vamped the dry bar, designed a built-in with two desk areas, and gave the bathroom a simple redo.
Just a Little Polish
By reconfiguring the layout of this little area and framing in the wine fridge, the entire space feels more purposeful, updated, and elevated.

The clients also had a large collection of books that didn’t have a home. Enter: media cabinet built in with ample shelving in a beautiful dark stained Alder.
Amber and Paige touched almost every room in this home to help create a place that these clients can truly call home.
